The kids started back to school before the public school kids. They're not happy about it, even when we tell them they'll get out almost a week earlier in the summer.
As part of our yearly tradition (and a school fundraiser) we went out to lunch after their first day back to class.
Like most, I am happy they are back to school, but not so happy putting my "chauffer" hat on again. For the first few weeks, our days will be filled with chaos as we struggle to get back into a rhthym of early rises, lunches to make, school bells to beat, and then homework, football, and gymnastics on the other end. We'll get there -- I'll just be earning a few more gray hairs along the way.
