Universal Studios

We took advantage of the time dad had off to visit Universal Studios. We were able to purchase a 5-day pass with a discount. We were lucky to only be 40 minutes from Orlando, so it takes a lot of pressure off of 'having' to stay overnight and being able to pick which days would be best to go.

On the first day we went, the weather was terrible -- it rained on and off all day long. We wore ponchos for most of that day and decided to do the area of the park that had more inside entertainment than outdoor rides. It was a lot of fun -- and best of all, the lines were very short because no one wanted to venture out in the rain. I didn't really mind the rain too much -- we were still spending time together as a family.

The second time we went (two days later) it was much hotter and much more humid. Unfortunately, Sophie was still too short to ride the roller coasters, so dad and Jack got to go on them. She was not happy (she is only one inch too short), but at least she isn't afraid to try! We had another long day there, but well worth it. We were still able to make it back home for a quick swim before going to bed.
